1966 GTO, The Tin Indian Story. Part 3 · 374 days ago

Merle thought that he knew exactly where the car was. The kid from whom he had originally bought the green car had told him that it was once the fastest GTO on the east coast, and he had thought, “Yeah, sure,” and proceeded on his way. Knafel had raced more than one GTO in 1966. But still, whereabouts unknown? Perhaps not.

1966 GTO, The Tin Indian Story. Part 1 · 378 days ago

Over time multitudes of parts have baked in my oven, soaked in my sink and otherwise passed through our home and our lives. In particular, some of those parts implemented the restoration of quite a car, a 1966 GTO rescued from a field near Dover, DE, — an authentic Tin Indian by name and by trademark. Since my husband and I are approaching retirement, it is time for the Tin Indian and all its parts to take a new journey. They are headed for the Mecum Auction in St. Charles, IL, on October 6, 2007.

Evolution of a Car Guy: · 504 days ago

While I am passionate about cars, I’m more inclined to think about customer service levels and reduced delivery times than restorations and horsepower. Nevertheless, I’d like to welcome both car guys and first time ‘do it yourselfers’ alike to the 1A Auto blog.
