Question Reply
Customer Question:
What is the difference between composite and sealed beam headlights?
1A Auto Replies:
Sealed beam headlights are a single unit that incorporates the lens, reflector and the bulb. When these lights burn out, everything must be replaced as one piece from the front of the vehicle. This style of headlight is found mostly on older vehicles or commercial/fleet vehicles. Composite headlights are a newer design that allows for the headlight bulb to be changed independent of the lens and reflector housing. When the bulb burns out on composite headlights, only the bulb itself must be changed and removed from under the hood.
