After watching the video, and ordering my part I was able to put the part on ALL by MYSEIF. My husband came out to see what I was doing and shook his head and walked back into the house. My next task is to replace the radiator.

Repair was relatively easy because instead of prying those factory installed plastic studs holding the motor to the door, I used a Japanese style cabinet makers flush-cutting flexible saw. Took 3 minutes or less to cut through all of the plastic push studs. The new motor came with plastic factory style studs so saving the old ones was not needed. Quick fix. However, I would like to know where I can get factory matched plastic keepers for re-installing door panels. Mine took a beating ( my fault) on removal. Looks like getting those plastic keepers should be easy, but its not. Its back together and everything works fine.

Went in like butter super easy with the video showed me how to get it in and out with scraping me hands and the regulator is the fastest and strongest out of all the windows. 1A Auto is awesome saves me time and money.

Does replacing just the motor still require the plastic rivets removed?

On some of this motors applications the motor will be riveted on the regulator or the regulator bracket. Then you would have to take the rivet out. You generally can replace the motors without taking the regulator out, although it might be more difficult.

yes. because it is difficult to access the motor attachment bolts. you might be able to with the right tools but you'll probably cut up your hands in the process. the plastic rivets are very easy to remove with a sharp wood chisel and hammer. just slip the chisel under the edge of the rivet and tap. no drilling is necessary. the kits i've used come with replacement rivets or you can use nuts and bolts. 30 minute job.

Yes but the replacement motor should come with new rivets from what I recall.

When I replaced the window motor I did not have to remove the mirror cabling or sleeves. It was a pretty quick and easy job! Just pop out the door pull and window switches so the panel is free and out of the way. I did re-grease the tracks so the window slides moved with any resistance.
