Hi, this is Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how to video helps you out. Next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. In this video, we'll show you how to replace the side or rear view mirror on this 2003 Honda Civic, same as most 2001 to '05 Civics. Pretty easy operation. The only tools you'll need are an 8mm socket with a ratchet or an 8mm wrench.
To replace the mirror, you'll only pull on that. It comes off. I could see the mirror's held on by three 8mm bolts. Your lead here has a little tab on the bottom. Push on that and the lead unplugs. We're going to speed it up here as I use an 8mm wrench to loosen those nuts and then they pretty much come off by hand. Be careful not to lose the front window down into the door panel. Best tool for this is probably an 8mm socket with a ratchet and extension. Press down. You'll need to use your screwdriver. Press down on these tabs here and then on this one here. The mirror comes out.
The mirror from 1A Auto comes with the gasket and everything. Just be careful and make sure that the gasket is all pushed in place correctly with these series of little pins on the gasket clips to as well. Okay. Then push it on. Put it in place. Then use your original 8mm nuts. I'll fast forward here as I, first, I put the nuts on by hand. Like I said the best tool for this is actually an 8mm socket with a ratchet and extension that help you get those nuts tighten as quickly as possible. In the middle there, I reconnect the lead. That just kind of helps it get out of the way. Then finish tightening it up.
We hope this helps you out. Brought to you by www.1AAuto.com, your source for quality auto replacement parts and the bets service on the internet. Please feel free to call us toll-free, 888-844-3393. We're the company that's here for you on the internet and in person.

Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you mirror replacement. This is a 2003 Honda Civic, we show you on the driver side. Passenger side is a similar procedure. It's pretty much the same for any 2001 to 2005 Civic two door. Items you'll need include a new side rear view mirror from 1AAuto.com, small flat blade screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, needle nose pliers, and an 8mm socket and ratchet or a wrench will work.
Start out, there's a screw in here and two screws behind here. To get this screw, you pull up on this trap door. Pry the top and pull down to expose two Philips screws here. All right, you pry up on the front of this panel, pull it up and out, and on the harness there's a little tab. Press the tab to disconnect.
Then up on the door handle, pull out, there's a little clip right here. Push the clip off. Pull the lock up and out. Two screws, one here and one here. Remove those. Unplug. Now we're going to remove this top quarter turn. Let it hang to the side, and then there are clips that go into the door that you need to release all the way around. You want to put your fingers in underneath and pull firmly. This door panel's been apart before, so it came apart pretty easily, but you want to release them on the bottom and then up top here. Up top here, and then the panel should pull up off the window ledge and off.
There are two plugs that hold your water shield on, here and there's one here. You can see somebodies already ripped the shield around that, you want to avoid doing that. Needle nose pliers, just grab hold in the middle, avoid stretching it or tearing it.
The mirror's connected right here, press the little tab underneath and pull. There's three 8mm nuts to hold it in place. If you have a broken mirror, you're probably not too worried and you can just yank the thing out. There's actually clips on a connector here that are holding it, so just pry them down and pull the mirror off.
Original part from the vehicle, new part from 1AAuto, you can see it's all the same, connectors are the same, and even these studs are the same. The original nuts are going to fit on. It's going to go on and fix your problem. Our part obviously comes in black. You can replace it and put it on this way, it'll make a good replacement, or you could paint it to match if you wanted to do it.
Let's take a minute now and clean up the mounting area before you put the new mirror on. Have the 8mm nuts ready in your hand and put the new mirror in place. Peek on the outside, make sure everything is in okay.
You want to place the clip holds it, and then put your 8mm nuts on. When you tighten these up, you want to be careful not to overtighten them.
We connect the lead. Turn the key on and you can test the mirror: Left, right, up, down.
Reinstallation: get your water shield back up in place. We use a little bit of tape to hold it. Make sure this is out of the way. Bring your panel up. Make sure the small harness goes through your door panel hole, and then the larger harness needs to go through for the power windows. Lift it up. Just make sure the harness for the speaker doesn't get caught.
Push it towards the window and down onto the ledge. Start by the front. Get your lock to come through. Make sure you lock comes through, push it down on the window ledge and it should be right in place. Reinstall the clips. For this clip right here, it's been put in incorrectly too many times so I'm going to have to actually guide it into the hole. Where's the hole? Reinstall your upper trim panel here. Reinstall the two screws from the door pull.
Reconnect the power window switch. The back goes down in first in place. Connect your door lock switch. Latch rod back in place. Just bring the clip around. Push it in. Put that back in place. Now fast-forward as we put those fasteners back in place and then put that trim panel back in place. Put this last screw back in place and flip the trap door down.
Thanks for tuning in. We hope this video helped you out. Next time you need parts for your car, please visit 1AAuto.com. Also check out our other helpful how-to and diagnosis videos.

I found the video on YouTube, remembered I'd bought other products from 1A Auto before. I paid $41 for this part (better than the $269 that Honda was going to charge me). Installed in ten minutes. Works great!

Mirrors should be replaced in an "option for option" fashion. If your mirrors do not have the same options that are listed in our listing, there is a possibility that this mirror may not function properly.
