In this video, we're going to be working with our 1998 Toyota Camry. We're going to show you how to remove and replace your coolant temp sensor.

This is a very vital part of keeping your engine running properly. It may not throw a check engine light, but a malfunctioning coolant temp sensor can cause the engine to run rough or inefficiently because the engine can't properly compensate for the actual running temperature of the motor, which is crucial to getting a good burn of fuel inside of your engine.

Here are the items you'll need for this repair: 19mm socket, ratchet, socket extension, and a drain bucket.

Here we have our new coolant temp sensor from 1A Auto. As you can see, we have the same 19 millimeter peg. We have the same little probe on the end here that sits into the coolant to actually gauge the temperature. It has the same two pin connector at the top, and it even comes with a new washer here to make sure that it's sealed nice and tight against our engine.

Your coolant temp sensor is a very important part of making sure the instrumentation on your dash functions properly, as well as making sure that the engine is properly managed by the ECU. If you need a new coolant temp sensor, this part from 1A Auto is going to go in direct fit just like your original equipment and fix you up right.

Your coolant temp sensor is this green connector here. Push down on the connector and remove it from the sensor. Then use the 19 millimeter socket and ratchet with an extension. Go over the whole sensor and remove it.

Now you may want to do this quickly if there's coolant in the system, because there's a possibility it will overflow out of the hole, so have the new sensor ready to go and a drain pan under the vehicle. Tighten the new sensor in with the 19 millimeter socket and ratchet and reconnect your electrical connector.
