I'm going to put a support underneath the transmission. You could use a transmission jack. I'm going to use a piece of wood. Ideally, you want a piece of wood that goes beyond the pan and right in this area where the crease is. It's a good and strong area. Just going to raise up the transmission just a little bit.
These are a little bit rusty so I'm just going to spray a little rust penetrant on there. Now I'm going to take the nuts off. I'm going to use a 15-millimeter socket. Watch your eyeballs. I'm going to take the other one-off as well.
Now that those nuts are off, ours broke in this situation, just double-check your support on the transmission just to make sure that's loose and separated from the crossmember. Just spray some rust penetrant on these bolts and these also. I'm going to use a 21-millimeter wrench on the nut side and a 21-millimeter socket to take the nut off. Now I'm going to do the same on this side. Just going to support this crossmember as I take these bolts off. Same with this side. And just grab this and slide it down. If you need to, you can use a pry bar and pry it down.
Now I'm going to take these bolts out, there's two of them. I'm going to use a 15-millimeter socket. And hold the mount while you take the other one out. And there you go.
And align the mount up. Let's get the bolts in. And get the other one right there. And torque these bolts to 37 foot-pounds. Get the crossmember, slide it back in position. The little part that's notched out goes on this side where the front driveshaft is. And put the bolts through. Get these nuts started. And I'll tighten these up. I'll take those to 52 foot-pounds.
Now I'll lower down the screw jack and install the two nuts and torque these to 30 foot-pounds.

Now you wanna make sure you support the transmission. I'm just using a transmission jack, and just take the weight off the mount basically. It should be good right there. There's two nuts through here. Just use a 15 millimeter socket to take those nuts off. You can just raise the transmission up just a little, just to show that there's no weight on it. Now we're going to take this cross member out. You don't have to fit this shield off unless you want to. Those are 15 millimeter bolts, but we're gonna take these bolts out. Use a 21 millimeter wrench, put that on the nuts, and then use a 21 millimeter socket to take these bolts out.
Take the nuts off first. The bolts will just hold the cross-member in place. And then we're going to do the same on this side. All right, support the cross-member, just hold it up while you take these bolts out, and these as well, and just slide this down. And there's two bolts holding this mount up. Take a 15 millimeter socket, take these 2 bolts out. There it is. Take the new mount, line it up, put these bolts in. I'll snug these up first and then torque these bolts to 35 foot pounds. And then slide this cross-member in position, and put the bolts through, and put the nuts on the back side, and then torque these nuts and bolts to 70 foot pounds. At this point you can lower the transmission back down. We've got support. Put these 2 nuts back in place, and torque these to 30 foot pounds.

It's time to get started on this tranny mount. If you were to look between the transmission and the transfer case, you're going to see a crossmember with the mount right up there. If you were to look up through this hole, you're going to see two 15-millimeter nuts. Remove the pair. So, now we're going to take a jack, with a nice piece of wood, and come right underneath this transfer case right here. Let's go ahead and carefully jack it up, and you're going to watch these studs pull up. Okay. That's as high up as it's going to want to go. At this point, if you were to look up along the top, where the mount mounts to the transmission, we're going to remove those 15-millimeter bolts as well. Using a 15-millimeter and a ratchet, go ahead and remove these bolts. Do the same to the other one. That one out of there. We're just going to see about rolling this right out of here. There it is, friends.
Okay, let's get ready for an install. We're going to go ahead and put in those studs first. Roll it right in. Now, I'm going to take my bolts. We'll start both of them into the transmission before we tighten either of them down completely. Okay, both are started. Let's snug them up. Okay. Just make sure it's nice and tight, and do the same to the other side. Let's go ahead and torque those upper bolts. We're going to torque them to 49 foot-pounds. Do the same to the other side. Now, it's time to lower the unit. You're going to see those studs dropping down through the crossmember. Go ahead and put on those nuts. Let's go ahead and bottom these out. Torque them to 41 foot-pounds. Do the same to the other one. Torqued.
