How do you calibrate this after installing to get optimum performance?

You just install the throttle positioning sensor the only calibration comes when your car's computer actually reads the position of the throttle sensor

After installation, you must use a digital multimeter and back probe the red reference wire as the harness is connected and ground the negative probe to any ground source! As you adjust the sensor closed throttle should be reading .5v and wide open throttle should be 4.5v then tighten the screws and recheck the sensor to make sure it stayed at the measured value and now it is calibrated
