Buick > Throttle Position Sensor > Choose Model

The Throttle Position Sensor is a crucial part of the vehicle's emmission management system. The throttle position sensor is a potentiometer that sends a signal to the computer indicating how open the throttle butterflies are or how much your foot is on the gas. The computer uses this information along with other information to make decisions such as, how much fuel to allow in to the motor, how much spark advance or timing, which gear the transmission should be in, and whether or not the Air Conditioning Compressor should be cycling.

A bad throttle position sensor is best diagnosed by your vehicle's On Board Diagnostic System. Some characteristics of a bad Throttle Position sensor are hard starting or no starting, stalling, rough running, varying idle speed, poor gas mileage, and/or backfiring.

Our replacement throttle position sensors are high quality aftermarket units. They are designed to directly replace the unit for the application for whichthey are listed.
