Instructions on this site say to remove the top hose and thermostat. The sensor is next to the thermostat, why do I need to remove the top hose and thermostat to replace the sensor only? can't I just drain the coolant below the coolant sensor, replac

Yes, you certainly may drain the coolant below the sensor, replace the sensor and refill. Our video removes the hose and thermostat to give a better visual for our viewers.
