I located this part at a local dealer for $120 and would have to be ordered. $25 with 1A, in stock and free shipping. At least for now it has cured my issues.

saw this part for $80 to $100 and wasnt going to spend that much. For $23 this part solved my not shifting issue and anti lock brake light coming on. Truck is running great!

I was very pleased with the shipping and somewhat satisfied with the part it worked well it was a direct fit but the speed sensor also measures in reverse! Supposably all the parts are 100% tested

Although this didn't solve my initial problem, like numerous blogs said it would, it is a good quality part, delivered on time and was probably due for a chage-out at 192,000 miles anyway. Have had good service from this company and haven't ever received a wrong part or experienced any problems in the years I've been a customer. (note: If your tach, speedo and gearshift indicator goes out in a '96 chevy truck and it won't shift properly; IT'S Your ignition switch... believe it or not! Not the input or output speed sensors as recommended by several misinformed blo?gers)

This the sensor that goes in the top of the transfer case. It is extremely easy to do with a wrench and a screwdriver. Takes 5 minutes to do. This saved me tons of money versus a shop.

To any beginner that has just starting out fixing their old vehicle or new one be run into the problem than their speedometer is not working, I recommend just getting this part and do it yourself because it is so easy to do. It took me like 5 minutes to take it off and put the new one and now speedometer works great.

I see no reason why it wouldn't work with any gear ratio. It just sends a signal on the speed of the drive shaft. The ecu would make the adjustments to the shaft rotation speed for shifts and speedometer etc. Sure solved my transmission issues. I actually have two vehicles that use this sensor and I switched them out and all the problems I had with the one vehicle were transferred to the other vehicle. Best of luck.

Hello, Gear ratio will not make a difference. Its when you alter tire size is when you can run into inaccurate readings.

Some vehicles have 2 speed sensors,(transmission and rearend. Could also be a faulty sensor(happens more than you think) or a short in the wiring harness

There are multiple reasons this could happen. It could be something is getting stuck once it reaches 100 in terms of a speedometer cable or the instrument cluster itself.

Yes it will work with a 4X4. I replaced the speed sensor on my 2000 Chevy K2500 with 4WD. The speed sensor is located on the top of the transfer case. There is not much clearance between the top of the transfer case and the floor of the vehicle, so you don't have a lot of room to work. Disconnect the wiring harness from the old sensor, remove the old sensor with a one inch wrench, install new sensor, tighten and reconnect wiring harness. It's a simple repair, and you will save a lot of money by doing it yourself.

I have a 1998 GMC k 15004x4. Truck shifts great until abs light comes on, then doesn't shift outta 2nd unless I floor it. Will this solve issue or is it something else I need to check?

Will this work for a 1998 Chevy Tahoe 5.7? Speedometer is way off when driving around 40mph it reads 60- 70mph? Any help would be appreciated.
