Hello, These are not intended to be a slip on rocker. These are designed to replace the rotted rocker once its cut out.

NO , I CUT TO FIT FLUSH . AND WELDED BUT JOINTS . I DID NOT USE BACK 6 INCHES I JUST BUTT WELDED THEM. THEN REWELDED SPOT WELDS , THE INNER ON MINE WERE RUSTED OUT TOO BUT NOT BAD MADE NEW ONE OUT OF FLAT METAL THAT I CUT TO SIZE , BUT DID FIT GOOD ,I ONLY DID DRIVERS SIDE.

These are weld on replacements. You will need to remove the rusted area, and then line these up for a spot weld. Once installed you may paint them if you choose.
