How do I know if my Hood Latch broken?
If your hood latch is not holding your hood down tight to the body of the vehicle, your latch is likely not working properly.  Hood latches do have safety mechanisms on them to protect the hood from flying open if the latch itself ever fails. However, if neglected or damaged in an accident, the safety could fail, leaving the hood to fly open at the most inconvenient of times.  So it is best to replace the latch before it becomes a real problem. Nobody wants to be the guy on the side of the highway with the hood wrapped backwards over the windshield and roof.  It's not only dangerous, its down right embarrassing.

Can I replace a Hood Latch myself?
Most DIY'ers would have no trouble at all replacing one of these. It is usually not more than a few 10mm screws, and removal and replacement of the hood release cable.
