The Plymouth Barracuda was the first muscle car, released two weeks before the Ford Mustang. Launched in 1964, the Barracuda was based on the compact Valiant line, keeping the lower body but sporting a massive wraparound rear window. The window is noted as the largest piece of automotive glass installed in a production vehicle of the time. The '65 model featured the first real upgrades. A Commando 4.5L V8 engine producing 235 hp was optional along with the Formula S package with available upgraded suspension and wheels.
