Have owned my 1986 Camaro IROC-Z/28 for more than 30 years, and in that time have bought too many rear hatch struts to count. They all failed within months. I came upon these and saw they were made for hatches with spoilers. Who knew there was such a thing? They have a higher charge and actually work well. A little more expensive than the 'generic' struts, but if they last, it will be well worth it.

Exactly what I wanted and needed. As soon as I hit release button on dash or use the key outside in deck lid keyhole the lid pops all the way up on its own just like it did the day I bought my Firebird in 1989. Thx TRQ for making products as good or even better than OEM.

Im the second owner of my 1989 Formula. Was originally special ordered by the parts manager at that dealer. I would be surprised if it had aftermarket parts. My hatch never opened by itself.
